Wrong is Not My Name

The collection was released amid a homophobic political climate, as the country where I live (Georgia) is enacting anti-LGBT laws, that target queer individuals, and queer expression, as well as censor queer art and culture, which makes it impossible to release such works in my country soon.

For me, clothing becomes a medium to express submerged emotions. In a society where agency is stripped from women and queer people, symbols take on significant meaning. This collection, therefore, stands as a symbol not only of the oppression faced by the queer community for many years but also of the courage that emerges in the fight against such a system.

The collection takes its inspiration from a poem of the same name Wrong is not my name, by American feminist author June Jordan, which serves as a manifesto of resistance against a system that politically excludes the queer body. - @tutasay
